PHIL PALMER

Founder & Chief Executive Officer

President of the Board

Phil served as a Marine officer for eight years, including combat deployments to Iraq, where he earned the Purple Heart. After leaving the military in 2013, he was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress and a traumatic brain injury. His own recovery through exercise, nutrition, and structured routine became the basis for WarriorWOD, which he launched in 2021. He is a 2005 graduate of The Citadel, a Jefferson Award recipient, and a South Carolina Department of Veterans Affairs Pathfinder. He also serves as Chief Revenue Officer at BigScoots.

Secretary

Jean is a professor at Trident Technical College in the Charleston area and a retired Army veteran. She serves as Secretary of the WarriorWOD Foundation board, contributing both academic perspective and firsthand understanding of military service to the organization’s governance.

Miles Warren

Treasurer

Miles is the Controller at Luxe Brands Collective, a Greenville-based holding company spanning custom home building, architecture, interior design, and real estate investment. He has 17 years of accounting and finance experience, with previous roles at Ernst and Young, Athene Annuity, and America Fujikura Limited. Miles holds a CPA license and is a Certified Fraud Examiner. A Citadel graduate, he has served as WarriorWOD’s Treasurer since January 2024.

Board Member

Amanda is President and COO of Bagatta Associates, Inc. She brings executive leadership and operational management experience to WarriorWOD’s board of directors.

Justin Charpentier

Board Member

Justin is the founder of CHARDEV, a public relations agency serving business owners and entrepreneurs on brand positioning and media strategy. A former Army veteran, he draws on backgrounds in military service and law enforcement to advise clients navigating public-facing communications. He serves on WarriorWOD’s board bringing PR and media relations experience to the Foundation’s outreach.

Board Member

Ben is the owner of BenCoxDesigns, a graphic design firm in Greenville, South Carolina that he founded in 2005. The firm serves companies of all sizes on branding, marketing collateral, and print and digital media. Ben is a graduate of The Citadel, Class of 2003.

Frank Grecco

Board Member

Frank graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy and served six years as a Marine Corps Field Artillery Officer with 1st Marine Division, including combat deployments to Iraq and Southeast Asia. He spent much of the following two decades in the healthcare industry, earning an MBA from UNC-Chapel Hill’s Kenan Flagler Business School while at Stryker Corporation. Frank now serves as a Director of Client Success in healthcare technology and lives in Raleigh, North Carolina with his family.

Board Member

Sean graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1993 and spent 22 years as a Marine Corps officer, working as a helicopter pilot, strategic planner, and training coordinator at bases including Camp Lejeune and Quantico. After retiring, he joined Deloitte and Touche’s Cyber and Strategic Risk division, where he served federal clients across the Departments of Defense, Transportation, and Commerce. He left Deloitte in 2021 to found Knighthawk Consulting, a leadership development and executive coaching firm based in Strasburg, Virginia.

LT COL Joseph Shusko (RET)

Board Member

Joe served 44 years in the Marine Corps. His career included flying presidential helicopters under the Reagan administration, commanding The Basic School at Quantico, commanding the Marine Corps Martial Arts Center of Excellence, and standing up the Force Fitness Instructor program before retiring in 2019. His decorations include the Legion of Merit and two Defense Meritorious Service Medals. He brings decades of military fitness and leadership development experience to WarriorWOD’s board.

Rene is a Veterans Business Banker at Pinnacle Bank, where she serves the financial needs of veteran-owned businesses and veteran clients. She brings financial services expertise and a direct commitment to the veteran community to WarriorWOD’s board.

Director of Veteran Programs

Experienced in trauma-informed care and veteran services. Oversees program delivery, Warrior intake and assessment, cohort management, and outcome tracking across all active classes.

Donnie McDaniel

Director of Nutrition

Certified nutrition professional with recovery-related coaching credentials. Leads the nutrition pillar, trains and supervises nutrition coaches, and develops the dietary framework used across the program.

Veteran with fitness and nutrition credentials who oversees Battle Buddy recruitment, training, assignment, and ongoing support. Ensures mentors are prepared for trauma-informed peer support.
