There are two ways to help veterans with your time at WarriorWOD. Volunteer at an event or with a professional skill, or, if you served, become a Battle Buddy and walk one Warrior through the six-month program.
See both ways to helpWhy your time matters
Burpees for Vets and the Hustle for Heroes 5K raise the money that pays for Warriors’ six months. One veteran’s recovery costs $1,500. The veteran pays nothing.
Founder Phil Palmer still handles most of the day-to-day work. Every marketing, SEO, or admin task a volunteer takes on is time that goes back to the Warriors.
A Battle Buddy texts every week, calls every two weeks, and checks in face-to-face as often as possible. Mentorship is one of the program’s three parts, with exercise and nutrition coaching.
The program your time supports measures every Warrior with the PCL-5 and C-SSRS each month. The College of Charleston ran an independent evaluation that WarriorWOD did not review before release.
Two ways to give your time
Work a fundraising event, or lend a professional skill like marketing, SEO, or social media from anywhere.
Walk one Warrior through all six months of the program. VA S.A.V.E. suicide prevention training comes first.

“I connected with WarriorWOD as a battle buddy to support other veterans in rebuilding their strength and resilience, knowing how fitness can transform lives and seeing how WarriorWOD made that a primary focus.”
