The WarriorWOD program provides its services to any US veteran struggling with PTSD regardless of geographic location. WarriorWOD prioritizes veterans residing in South Carolina, North Carolina, and Florida. WarriorWOD is headquartered in Charleston, SC.

How much does it cost to participate in the WarriorWOD program?

The WarriorWOD program is completely free for all participants. There are no fees to join and participating warriors won’t pay a dime to be a part of the WarriorWOD program.

What Is the WarriorWOD program?

WarriorWOD addresses post-traumatic stress and other invisible wounds experienced by our nation’s veterans. We believe exercise, nutrition, and mentorship are the key components in the road to recovery. And the research backs that up.

Exercise: Warriors receive a 6-month gym membership to the fitness modality of your choice. We’ll coordinate the membership based on your preferences, encouraging you to exercise in a way that meets your physical needs.

What is required of participants?

To succeed in our program, you’ll need to:

  • Exercise Regularly: Visit the gym at least twice a week.
  • Connect with Your Mentor: Check in at least once every two weeks via phone, virtual conference, or in person.
  • Meet with Your Nutrition Coach: Engage in nutrition coaching once every two weeks.
  • Complete Monthly Surveys: Fill out a program survey monthly to help track your progress.

How do I apply to the WarriorWOD program?

To apply, click on any of the APPLY links on this page, and have your DD-214 ready. Make sure to black out your Social Security Number on the document. Additionally, we encourage you to subscribe to our mailing list so we can keep you updated on your application status.

How often do new WarriorWOD program classes start?

WarriorWOD operates four sessions per year

  • March // applications due by mid-February
  • June // applications due by 1-April
  • September // applications due by 1-August
  • December // applications due by 1-November

Am I guaranteed support if I submit an application?

We wish we could support everyone, but our ability to do so depends on funding at the time of review. Your application will be kept on file for 1 year, so you won’t need to resubmit every quarter.

How does WarriorWOD decide who receives support?

With limited funding, we’re unable to support every veteran who applies. WarriorWOD reviews applications quarterly, providing support based on the severity of a veteran’s need, available space in a given class, and available funding to support another veteran.

When are applications reviewed?

Applications are reviewed on a monthly basis. As an applicant, you can expect to hear from us within 30-45 days. Please note, due to overwhelming need, WarriorWOD has reached program capacity and we are currently pausing application submissions.
